In the January 2011 issue of Golf Digest, tourism player and golf analyst Gary McCord endorses Putting Face-On as a superior form of putting. He even references Dave Pelz for scoring that putt very high.

Face-On ™ Putting was introduced in 2006 by prominent sports psychologist Dr. David Cook in his very popular book, “Golf’s Sacred Journey.”

Thousands of golfers have already switched to Face-On ™ putting and the number is growing by the day.

Filming was recently completed on a movie based on “The Sacred Journey of Golf.” The film stars Robert Duval and includes cameos from Stewart Cink, Lucas Glover, Rickie Fowler, and KJ Choi.

When the film opens in spring 2011, exposure to Face-On ™ putting is expected to stimulate explosive growth in this new putting technique.

The Face-On ™ putt offers golfers seven key benefits:
1) The golfer stands next to the ball and looks toward the hole / goal line. The golfer’s binocular vision provides better alignment and distance judgment than the traditional side putt.
2) Putting is mechanically simple with few moving body parts. This allows for a repeated hit that will withstand competitive pressure.
3) Use a natural underhand punching motion much like throwing horseshoes, pennies, or a soft ball.
4) Promotes a simple stroke, repeating back and forth for precision.
5) The long putter length used provides a smooth tempo that promotes consistency.
6) The golfer quickly learns to control distance by varying the length of the putt.
7) The relatively upright posture used the golfer to spend more time practicing without stress on the back.

A putter that has been optimized for Face-On ™ putting will have the following characteristics.
1) Length from 44 to 54 inches depending on the height of the golfer.
2) Lie down at as vertical an angle as the USGA allows, 10 degrees.
3) Balanced face with high MOI.
4) Clear sight lines framing the golf ball; no balls or other distracting geometric shapes
5) Zero loft to eliminate directional error caused by keeping the axis vertical with a ten degree tilt angle.
6) Adjustable weight for different playing conditions.
7) Vertical grooves on the face for a smooth feel and excellent roll.

The Face-On Putting style helps golfers of all skill levels. It’s especially useful for golfers struggling with those pesky 3,4- and 5-foot putts.
