Why do people enjoy coffee so much? Maybe because of the caffeine that helps with those long days or that fabulous aroma that causes the nose to go down. But history shows that it goes deeper than the surface shows. There is also a physiological value that has a common effect along with the environment of the coffee premises.

timelines

Let’s start with a short history lesson. Coffee has been brewed and drunk since the early 15th century. Its popularity grew rapidly due to its rich content and its ability to attract socialites from various cultures.

Fast forward to the 21st century not much has changed. In fact there is now a coffee shop on several corners, despite the struggling economy they have taken a beating but continue to thrive. This has proven to be a good marketing strategy, like the famous quote from the movie Field of Dreams, “If you build it, they will come” and this is perhaps an understatement.

The new age

Technology has played a vital role in all aspects of life. People are extremely fond of gadgets. Social media has launched a new generation of entrepreneurs. This gives the movers and shakers of the new age more time and flexibility. Next time you’re in a coffee shop, do a little prospecting. Pay special attention to the types of people who frequent the store closest to you. Whether it’s on an affluent side of town (where they usually are) or not, you’ll see a lot of interesting people. Success can no longer be categorized as white or blue collar. There’s a new breed and they don’t wear collars!

probing the mind

This is true of almost every city imaginable, especially in the United States. From doctors to celebrities, it’s a golden mind of knowledge and experience walking in and out of these doors every day. This is your chance to build that bridge between you and success. This could be the most important drink of your life. I refer to this as “Paneling”. Depending on the selected field of specialization and geographic location, these opportunities will present themselves frequently. Small talk without being intrusive is a good way to break the ice. Usually, the people who possess the knowledge are the most willing to share it. Find a topic of conversation, something that is interesting but informative to your ear. Listening is what you want to do the most. When you talk be sure to ask open ended questions, this will give you a chance to get some gold nuggets. Successful people like to talk about success.
