Monument and Palmer Lake, also known as the Tri-Lakes Area

Monument and Palmer Lake have a great small town feel, but many amenities can be accommodated. These cities can meet anyone’s needs.

Exclusive, average, jocks, athletes, families, art fans and children. If you haven’t heard, Monument has the largest 4th of July parade in the small town. Then Palmer Lake puts on amazing fireworks that night. Of course, if you missed this, there are plenty to see and do in the Tri-Lakes area.

Parks and play areas, Santa Fe Trail for walking, biking and horse riding, fishing, many diverse and unusual restaurants and cafes, art galleries galore, historic buildings and houses.

Every third Thursday, from May to July, Monument has its Art Hop from 4 to 8 pm. And, every Wednesday through August 8, Monument has concerts in Limbach Park from 7 to 9 pm.

I just started a new blog for people to know the area, soon you will know and see the different places and hot spots. You can check it in:

It is a must see!

On the third Thursday of every month, May through October, our Historic Downtown Monument, CO art galleries, restaurants, and shops stay open until 8pm for a celebration of art openings, amazing food, and live music for everyone!

The Gallery Center at the corner of Beaconlite and 2nd street. For art lovers from all over the world. Our little town has amazing and fun creations.

The Second Street Art Market features glass art by Nancy Bonig throughout the year and many other interesting pieces by other artists.
Bella Art and Frame has luxury custom frames mixed with unusual fine crafts, many of them made by local artisans.

Ah, now for all book lovers, Covered Treasures Bookstore is everything a reader needs. New and Used Books: Bestsellers, Classics, Colorado and Local History, Maps and Hiking Guides. They are open seven days a week, if you don’t have it you can ask for it. Nice cozy feeling without the chain store attitude.

We can enjoy in the patio of the Mexican Restaurant La Casa Fiesta. They offer Mexican food in the style of southern New Mexico, with a warm, friendly and family atmosphere. The best Margarita’s on Front Street, Mexican beer and a full bar. Art lovers can relax and enjoy an “After Hop” at La Casa Fiesta. Shawn and Mary are the owners, they are wonderful and helpful people. La Casa has live music for Art Hop and generally on Fridays and Saturdays.

Our local newspaper is the Tri-Lakes Tribune, which shares hometown news, local information, and events with homes and businesses in the area, Black Forest, Gleneagle, and northern Colorado Springs. They are affiliated with Colorado Community Newspapers. CCN has been created to easily bring local news to smaller communities, the news about their direct area that they really want to know.

The Coffee Cup Cafe, a fixture in Monument for many, many years. It has gone through different owners, but they always kept the same name. They must have understood the importance of this particular cafe and its 20th century history. It is a popular local restaurant serving breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. They have a wide variety of selections with specials for each meal every day of the week. You have to try the “world famous fries”.

The Love Shop is quite interesting. Kathi has unique gifts like angels and Willow Tree figurines, candles, log cabin décor, inspirational books, music and cards, teacups and teas, Pandora jewelry, and much, much more. You have to look all over this store to really see what cool trinkets it has!
