Most people have a hard time spending money on their health, but they have no problem spending money at Dunkin Donuts buying a coffee and a bagel, for example. It’s crazy to me. This is just one example of how contradictory we have become as a society. We complain about our weight and health. We say that we want to lose weight and be healthier, but we complain about what it costs to spend on nutrition and at the same time we spend our money on foods and drinks that poison our bodies.

Another example: we complain that organic food costs too much money, but we don’t realize that we spend a lot more money on medicines, hospital costs, etc. Do we honestly think, especially in today’s economy, that healthcare will cover all of our potential hospital bills in the future?

In my circle of influence, everyone spends at least $ 200 a month on their nutrition. The question you might ask is “why would someone spend so much money on nutrition (actually $ 200 a month is very little)? Here’s why?”

# 1) they want to live a quality life. You cannot put a price on the most precious gift that God has given us: the body.

# 2) It will cost you more money to eat like most of us in America, than it does to spend money on healthy foods and nutritional supplements. For example, let’s say you go to your local health food store and buy a meal replacement shake to replace your breakfast for $ 3. At the end of the month, you would have spent $ 90 on meal replacement shakes for breakfast. What do most people in America do?

Most people go to their Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, or local fast food restaurant, buy a coffee and a bagel or a donut, or whatever people eat today, and spend well over $ 3. Yes You go to Starbucks, a muffin will cost you about $ 1.50. On average, someone is likely to spend at least $ 5 on an unhealthy meal for breakfast. I’m not even talking about having lunch here. We usually spend a little more on lunch.

So let’s do the math. $ 5 per day for an unhealthy meal at the end of the month = $ 150 per month. Whereas $ 3 a day on that meal replacement shake at the end of the month = $ 90 a month. So in this scenario, you save $ 60 if you stay healthy.

# 3) They understand that in today’s world, whether you like it or not, nutritional supplementation is no longer a luxury. It is not an option. Now it has become a necessity. Some people say, “I’m going to eat all natural foods.” I say good luck because it is hard to find. You can follow a raw food diet, which I highly recommend, but you will need to supplement your daily needs for vitamins and nutrients that your body requires.

You can be the healthiest person on the planet and eat the healthiest foods, but at the end of the day, at the most, you will only get about 30-40% of the daily nutritional intake that your body requires.

Here is the bottom line. Let’s not be stingy with our future and your health. If we don’t invest in our health, it will cost us more money and more pain. Stay away from fast food, coffee, and bagels. Do your research and find a good brand that you can get your monthly nutrition from, spend some of your grocery money on organic and raw food too. You will notice a big difference in your body, in your energy and in your life. I can’t begin to explain to you how good it feels to have the body you want, feel good, be confident, and save money.
