The 12 megapixel resolution camera phone, Sony Ericsson Idou, became an instant hit at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. “Idou” in Japanese means change, which indicates that the phone will come with a large number of changes. Idou is just a temporary codename for the model. It will run on the fifth edition of the S60 software platform, which is a deal breaker for Sony. The Sony Ericsson Idou comes with many exciting features, some of which are mentioned below:

Camera:

As mentioned above, its camera is 12 megapixel resolution. This camera comes with a host of features that one can expect such as a xenon flash for photography, autofocus, LED flash useful for recording videos, face detection, geotagging, and Smile Shutter technique. The smile shutter concept is interesting because it captures the image only when the individual smiles. The phone supports touch focus, so the user can simply touch a region to focus. It also provides automatic rotation.

Fashion Features:

Sony Ericsson Idou has the features of other high-end equipment such as Bluetooth, HSDPA, A-GPS, Wi-Fi with DLNA certification, USB 2.0 connectivity, accelerometer (motion sensor) and microSD memory card slot. It also comes with a 3.5-inch touch screen with an incredible 360×640 pixel resolution. All these features only make a mobile phone enthusiast’s heart race.

Symbian-OS:

Sony Ericsson Idou uses the Symbian operating system. Despite the fact that Idou uses S60, it should be noted that the UI is quite different from Nokia’s S60 UI or Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.

External features:

Idou’s measurements of 111 x 54 x 15 mm are comparable to the Nokia 5800 with a measurement of 111 x 51.7 x 15.5 mm. This mobile phone is bulky, especially when compared to a Nokia 5800. Compared to Sony Ericsson’s own XPERIA X1, the Sony Ericsson Idou looks bigger. But to incorporate the high-resolution camera, the volume is small.

It looks stylish with software that combines black and transparent, plus a transition in between. The three colors seen under the screen are comparable to Nokia 5800.

Idou has options that will offer you the option to make video calls. You’ll also get access to an in-ear speaker and useful tech like a light sensor. The ambient light sensor is noteworthy because it helps control the amount of brightness on the screen and also on the keyboard depending on the ambient light.

The power button and the speaker button are located on the top half of this phone. The fast port and lock switch along with the microSD memory card slot are located on the left side of this phone. It is a wonderful relief that this memory card cannot be accidentally broken. It can also be easily opened. The camera buttons, such as the play button and the volume or zoom control, the image/video toggle, and the shutter button, are located on the right side of this phone.

The easy-to-use phone that combines good looks and effective user interface has great potential for prospective users. So if you’re in the market for a new phone, the Idou might be a good option for you.
