The scientific name for Purple Mangosteen is Garcinia Mangostana of the species Guttiferae. It is native to eastern Asia. In Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, the fruit is titled “Queen of Fruits.” In French, they called Mangosteen as “Food for God.”

The fruit, about the size of a baseball, has an external diameter of 3 to 7 cm. When the mangosteen was ripe, you can taste from 4 to 8 segments of snow-white, juicy, soft-fleshed fruit.
