How to give a great sensual massage

A sensual massage or erotic massage does not necessarily mean sex. It is still a massage, but it can incorporate different movements and techniques that may not be used in a traditional massage. Sensual massages are used by couples to express feelings and provide the recipient with a wonderful sensual experience. Remember that it is about giving although the energy during the massage will go both ways.

We have put together some basic steps to consider when giving a sensual massage to your partner or as a practitioner to a client.

AMBIENT

The environment is critical. Create a sensual environment with a combination of lighting, sounds, scents, and temperature. The room temperature should be set so that it is warm enough for the massage to be performed with limited or no clothing. Most of the time, a sensual massage is done without curtains.

YOUR OWN TOILET

Make sure you are bathed and well groomed. Pay special attention to the hands and nails. If you’re a guy planning to massage a girl, make sure her body hair is well groomed. Remember to think about the recipient and what they like.

CLEANSING AS PART OF THE MASSAGE

Particularly before the massage, a warm bath with the therapist washing the recipient’s body is a fantastic way to relax into the touch of the massage.

DECK

If your client or partner is a bit nervous, cover the buttock initially and explain that the towel can be removed as they become more comfortable. A naked body creates a more sensual experience with non-stop caressing and even the use of the body as a massage tool… ie bodyslide.

ASK.

You can ask before you start if there is anything the person doesn’t want to touch or doesn’t like. This helps you get a feel for how comfortable the person is and how to progress the sensual aspects of the massage.

GENERAL TECHNIQUES

Follow your own techniques if you have been trained, otherwise start with the areas full of tension: back, shoulders, neck, and for some, the lower back and buttocks. Keep your movement fluid and try to flow from one area to the next in long, slow strokes. Try to avoid losing contact with the skin at any time. The way a sensual massage or erotic massage ends will depend on the person, couple or client, and their own comfort level. Be sure to remember that it is your massage and that the end should follow your current feeling. A client returning to work may enjoy a bath to remove excess fat. Her partner may want to continue with more erotic playtime. The situation is up to you and your recipient. Just make sure there is a closure to the massage that the recipient can make out.
