As a professional Halo 3 player, one thing people always ask me is “how can I be good with the sniper rifle?”

Well, before we give you some good advice, we need to talk about controller setup and your TV. I play with vibration off. .

The reason for this is when shooting, especially without ranging, a steady hand is a must. Yew

you are trying to shoot someone and your controller vibrates, it is likely to scare you and make you “jerk”, this can cause you to miss shots.

I also recommend using a wired controller. The reason is that there is a slight delay in the wireless controllers, which makes their reactions a bit slower. You need every advantage to pull off those clutch shots.

Now let’s talk about your TV. Large TVs make it harder to target screen lag, especially large plasma and LCD screens. I play on a 22-inch CRT TV. I know it would seem like a big TV would make aiming easier, but it just isn’t. While large TVs look good, they’re not suitable for competitive gaming.

Another thing to keep in mind is the sensitivity with which you play. Default Sensitivity

is 3. Most pros play at 4-6. I use 4 myself. Higher sensitivity doesn’t always mean better.

Anything higher than 6 will be very difficult to shoot.

Now my advice…

Tip #1: When there is no range, don’t charge your opponent, let him charge you, this makes it easier to put your admirer where his head is and kill him. This way you can like where your opponent will be.

Tip #2: It’s easier to miss range when you’re at a higher elevation than your opponent, like when you’re at the top of a ramp and your enemy is at the bottom. So when you’re under an enemy, maybe it’s better to use another weapon.

Tip #3 A good time to not range/hit or not range is when someone is approaching a skybridge and you are waiting for them to come up. The reason this is true is because your body only moves up and down, not side to side. This makes it easy to predict where they will be and kill them. The elevator put them in one motion and they always go up exactly the same way, so practice this.

Tip #4: No reach, great for narrow hallways. The reason for this is that there isn’t much room for your enemy to go, so the chance of you getting a kill is pretty good.

Council no. #5 is a no-brainer, but look for the cursor to turn red and shoot. Also, if you hit someone once, go for the beating, don’t try to shoot again.

Tip #6: It’s best not to range up close because the target is bigger when it’s closer and you can go for the beating.

That’s all I’ve got for now, so practice these tips and you’ll be going crazy with no scopes before you know it!
