Housekeeping, taxes, and death are the three inescapable aspects of life. Well, almost any way. While death may be inevitable, you certainly don’t have to suffer the pains of housework or doing your own taxes if you hire someone to do these things for you. And while it is true that at one time only the upper class could afford housewives, today that luxury is available to the middle class as well.

For many people, hiring a cleaning service is a necessity that stems from the need to have a clean house, but the lack of time or physical ability to do the task themselves. There is no right or wrong reason to have a house cleaning service, but there are more reasons to have help than not to.

If you have decided that it is time to hire a house cleaning service, you are probably ready for the next step and that is to interview house cleaners to select your next service. This initial process can be long and elaborate or short, simple and sweet. Which method you choose is up to you, of course, but if you want to make the process as easy for yourself and get the best help as possible, the first and most important step is to select your cleaners from a reputable source.

If you use a consumer-driven, consumer-based website, you can get a good idea about a business based on past and current customer reviews of the business itself. By simply checking the ratings and reading the reviews, you should be able to select at least three or four house cleaning companies to interview.

Be prepared when you are prepared to interview house cleaning companies so you can say what you want and what you don’t want done. For example, some people do not want certain rooms to be entered or they want the windows to be washed or the dishes to be washed. Some jobs are considered extras and some companies may or may not be able to do some jobs, such as window cleaning.

Other issues to consider include who should provide the cleaning supplies, you or the company? Do you have a brand preference for cleaning detergents or do you prefer the company to use green products to clean your home? And finally, you need to decide how many times a week you expect your home to be cleaned. Many clients like to have a weekly service, while others are content with a spring cleaning once a month. Keep in mind that the more you use the service, the more discounts you will see in the rates. It may actually be more cost effective to have weekly services instead of monthly in some cases.

And of course, once you finally sign up for a service, if you originally found it online, you can pass on the favor and post your own review of your house cleaner and help ensure they stay knee-deep in the referring business.
