The first recommendation is that you clean up your diet, this includes going off a low carb diet or a high fat diet, it is important that you eat a well balanced, nutrient dense diet full of vegetables, good clean carbs and healthy essential fatty acids. Avoid junk food and processed food all together. Drinking herbal teas like chamomile and passionflower along with vegetable juices is great for adrenal restoration.

Second, reduce your caffeine intake. Although caffeine has its benefits, you should not overload your body with caffeine as this puts a lot of stress on your body. Avoid drinking too much coffee, energy drinks and supplements before training. It will be difficult at first, but after several weeks you will naturally feel more energetic, which is essential. Avoid those drinks and foods that give you that instant burst of energy. Caffeine also acts as a diuretic, which means you need to compensate by drinking more water, as it removes more water from your body. Make sure you drink enough water based on your location, climate, exercise level, and body.

Sleep is very important; of course it is not the easiest thing for us to get 8 hours a day. Go all out, though, as sleep is extremely important for adrenal and general health. Drinking caffeinated products doesn’t help, so that’s another reason to cut them out.

Salt can help restore the adrenal glands. If you feel dizzy in the morning, during your workouts, or if you wake up suddenly you may have low blood pressure and adrenal exhaustion, a good way to increase blood pressure is to consume a good quality salt such as sea salt.
