Everyone always seems to have a hard time training their dog when they are starting out. In a sense, it should be reassuring to know that you are not the only one with problems. On the other hand, you know that you need a little guidance to make sure you’re doing everything right and you just want to start seeing some positive results.

For me, about 7 years ago I got a new puppy. His name is Ralph, and he’s the definition of everything a man’s best friend should be. I love him to death. But, a few months after I caught him, he developed a nasty habit of barking at everything he saw.

Caught him barking at a butterfly once. Caught him barking at the kitchen chair which made a squeak as the person sitting in the chair leaned back. He just stood there and barked at the chair for a good 20 seconds.

Worst of all, I’ve seen him bark in his own shadow. I’ve always heard people tell jokes about dogs barking in their own shadow, but it seemed like my Ralph would always be the butt of the joke.

Well, I started trying a lot of different bark control options. Keep in mind that this happened before you entered the dog training industry. He was testing everything he could find on the market that he knew would be safe, but he wasn’t always necessarily sure that it would work.

Finally, I found something called an ultrasonic dog bark control device. The beauty of this product is that it is very easy to apply. All you do is install the batteries, place it on a solid flat surface, and let it do its job.

Every time a dog barks, the device emits a radio wave beyond the hearing range of any human being. However, the noise disrupts the dog’s barking pattern. And, after several barks, the dog will learn not to bark ever again, unless absolutely necessary.

Before I started using the ultrasonic device, my only options were to simply try various commands on Ralph. Sometimes he responded well, sometimes not so well. Needless to say, the ultrasonic device greatly sped up the process of disciplining Ralph and taught him not to disturb barking anymore.
