In the province of Misiones, located in the northeast of Argentina, you will find one of the most wonderful attractions in the country, the world famous Iguazú Falls. These natural wonders are found within the Iguazú National Park and many tourists from around the world come to visit them every year.

The falls are called “Iguazú” after a Guaraní word, which means “Big Water”. This is exactly the best name for this amazing natural monument, considered one of the wonders of the world. The incredible waterfalls are created at the end of the Iguazú River to the Paraná River in a spectacular jump of 80 meters and 4 kilometers wide.

Foz do Iguazú has 275 waterfalls and the most impressive of them is the Devil’s Throat, 80 meters high, which visitors can observe on a wooden walkway just 50 meters from it.

There are many routes to discover these wonderful waterfalls. One of them is through stairs created in the same stone to descend to the banks of the Iguazú River. There you can watch the waterfalls fall and also navigate the river to San Martín Island. Another interesting attraction is visiting and enjoying the natural pool created by the fall of the Dos Hermanas waterfall.

Visitors can also walk along the upper wooden walkways to watch the waterfalls fall from above. This is the most impressive sight in Iguazú, where visitors will see the huge Bossetti and El Chico waterfalls, and of course the incredible Devil’s Throat, where the border of Argentina with Brazil is located.

To protect this fabulous natural area, which was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Argentina created the Iguazú National Park, with 67 hectares of rivers and forests. Here visitors will find viewpoints and islands created by the river delta and will also come into contact with tropical vegetation such as ceibos, the natural flower of Argentina, palm trees, laurels and other species.

In the Iguazú National Park there are also fauna such as coatis, toucans, eagles and lizards and even endangered animals such as jaguar, yacare, anteaters and others that find in this park a protected natural environment.

This national park is located just 17 kilometers from the city of Puerto Iguazú, a town fully equipped for tourism, with international hotels, banks, casinos, shops and all the services and amenities that its guests may need during their stay. There are also places of recreation on the banks of the Iguazú River such as a golf course, restaurants, craft fairs with elements of the Brazilian, Paraguayan, Argentine and other cultures.

Puerto Iguazú also has many thematic museums related to the tropical environment of the area such as the Museum of Images of the Jungle, the Mbororé Museum and others.

This city is also the triple border between Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina, so it offers many alternatives for adventurous tourism. It is also the perfect place to enjoy a wonderful vacation in a magical tropical paradise. For all this, Foz de Iguazú and Misiones are a must-see during your trip to incredible Argentina.
