Money is not everything and never will be.

Money won’t solve most of your problems and can never give you all the solutions, then? I want you to understand that money is only a help, not an end.

In this period when everything is skyrocketing and money is in short supply, I’m sure we all need that extra pound, dollar or naira. Unless you are already a billionaire or have millionaire parents, at some point you will need some extra money to oil the engine of your life.

You will agree with me that there is someone you know who seems to always have more money than you, and you have been wondering what their secret is. Now listen, let me tell you how to GET MORE IN LESS. This is what I am applying in my life and it is working.

1. MICROMANAGEMENT:
If you definitely want to have more, you must learn to manage the limited resources you have. You will be surprised to see what a dollar or a hundred naira would add up to in a long time. This is what I meant; if you spend a dollar (#350) on snacks two days a week, that will equal 1*2*4 (8) in a month. That will give you $8 a month, then 8*12 will give you a year’s total. That’s $98 in a year which is #33600 in Nigeria. The essence of micromanagement is to cut down on unnecessary spending and then channel the money into something more productive. Spend money on what is necessary, not on your ostentation.

2. USE YOUR NETWORK:
In this age, who you know is vital. Make use of your contacts legitimately. Mark the word LEGITIMATE, do not depend only on what you know, but ask your contacts for a reference. This works well because it reduces extra charges and time on some services. When you’re introduced to a good person, the stress of building trust is reduced because you have the established personality and goodwill of your reference. When used efficiently, it leads to good discounts and better customer relationships.

3. GO GREEN:
Go green with your lifestyle. Recycle everything if possible, when I say recycle I mean reuse, reduce and recycle. In other words, REDUCE the amount of what you accumulate or buy, REUSE what you have as long as it is good and functional, RECYCLE it over and over again. You can recycle waste from your car, house, clothes and kitchen. Yes! Use your waste in the garden, this will also save you some money. Just go green.

4. FIND AN ALTERNATIVE SOURCE OF INCOME
Never rely on just one source of income. This will help you reduce stress, especially when that source is affected by the bad economy. Find other means to generate passive income, there are always means to do it; start a part-time business, monetize your talents, sell some stuff, and much more. If you don’t have an idea, you can search on Google. HOW TO GET PASSIVE INCOME, there are great ideas to get online and start generating income.

5. SAVE:
Finally, if you want to have more in less, always SAVE, SAVE, SAVE. No matter how small, save a substantial amount every time money comes into your hand. By saving, you will always have more to do important things while others run for funds.
