The first steps you take in creating a list will lay the foundation for your business. Once you have these things in place, you can focus on other things, like driving traffic to your landing pages and product offers, as well as editing your sales messaging to improve your conversion rates.

You don’t want it to be too comprehensive, as you want your paid product to be the solution to your subscribers’ problems.

A surefire way to kill your business before it’s even started is by bombarding your new subscribers with promotion after promotion. Let them know you before you start sending them promotions, as the sole purpose of offering them an ethical bribe is to get them on your list.

4. Now start building a relationship with your subscribers by sending them informative and quality information on a routine basis. Use a ratio of 2 high-quality information messages for each promotional message you send. However, you can include a ‘soft sell’ in each message by including a suggestion of a product or service (your own or one with your affiliate link) at the end of your article, by including a link to a resource after your signature, or reviewing a product and turning it into your content email. Then, of course, you would include a link to your affiliate ID at the bottom of your review.

5. Within the first few days after someone joins your list, you should ask them what problems they’re having and what they’re looking for a solution to. By doing this you will know exactly what your list is looking for and then you can create your entry level product.
